LINKAGE
Some interesting (and infuriating) links from the various websites I peruse. Enjoy. In honor of the shopping season: http://contexts.org/socimages/2009/12/18/the-meaningless-discount/ I want this (even though I am a tad late): http://merchdirect.com/Latina/Tshirts/Wise_Slim_Fit_Fine_Jersey_TShirt_Womens?productid=11258 Something to ponder: ...

WHOA
A combination of post-finals sloth behavior and the holiday season has made me sluggish and 5 pounds heavier. As a result, I have failed to write in a week. Boo me. I have some topics in mind but have failed to actually write something. Most of my time has been spent with family and friends OR getting re-acquainted with an old friend called shopping. It seems as though my brain has also taken a...

Finally, someone who sees it from my perspective. “Among the cringe-worthy morals of this story: When you’re in love, the only thing that matters in life is your man. If you get dumped, your life is over, so feel free to act suicidal to get him back. Even if he tells you he never wants to see you again, manipulation and game-playing are effective ways to get his attention. Your...

Distance

I love my family so much and moving away has made me realize how much I enjoy having them be a part of my daily life. I know my family will support and love me through anything, and that bond has never...

– Malcolm X, The Autobiography of Malcolm X I love autobiographies because they help us understand people. There is perhaps no greater quote to illustrate why Malcolm X viewed the world as he did.

For Randy
I stayed away from these topics because they require more brain power than I have to spare. What follows is the result. I tried. Re: Tiger Woods, Really Tiger? You didn’t think these reality show nimwits would go home and brag that they shagged arguably the most recognizable athlete on the planet? REALLY? The only good thing about this sad story is that Elin (the wife) disproved the stereotype...

“Discrimination in many cases may not even be intentional, some job seekers pointed out, but simply a matter of people gravitating toward similar people, casting about for the right “cultural fit,” a buzzword often heard in corporate circles.” http://www.nytimes.com/2009/12/01/us/01race.html?_r=1&em
